Sexuality in behavioral health services: A queer and trans-affirmative approach

Recent research highlights the lack of sexuality education that many mental health professionals have when working with individuals and communities. In this 3 hour training, attendees will engage with basics of human sexuality from a sex-positive approach, including the comparison of multiple dimensions of sexuality, reviewing their own sexuality education experiences, and introducing themselves to core domains of sexuality necessary for clinical practice. Cultural humility and sex-positivity will be infused throughout this training; implications for supervision and advocacy will also be discussed.
