Narrative therapy: Theory and practice
This workshop provides an overview of the ideas and basic practices of narrative therapy, including the narrative metaphor, the post-structuralist worldview, queer theory, externalizing the problem, and some ways of storying experience. Applications of narrative therapy with problems such as depression, trauma, ADHD, and eating disorders will be discussed. A key focus will be working with LGBTQ+ clients using a queer-informed narrative therapy approach. Also, there will be a discussion on crafting useful questions within narrative practice.
