LGBTQ+ affirming care for Vietnamese clients and their families

In recent years, record numbers of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation have been proposed in nearly every state in America. The vast majority of these legislations target transgender and nonbinary (trans) youth and families. As a result, LGBTQ+ people, particularly trans youth, are experiencing increased mental health symptoms including minority stress, persistent anxiety and suicidality. Although many direct service providers want to support LGBTQ+ clients, few have been trained to work specifically with Vietnamese LGBTQ+ clients and their families. This training will provide a comprehensive overview and client examples of working with Vietnamese LGBTQ+ clients and their families, including bilingual (Vietnamese and English) SOGIE terminology and concepts. This webinar will also equip direct service providers with concrete clinical tools for more compassionate, effective care for Vietnamese LGBTQ+ clients and their families.
