Law and ethics for behavioral health

This will be a six-hour web-based power-point presentation (6 CEs) that will focus on new laws, case law and regulations that will impact public entity healthcare providers or their patients and clients. Topics will include state and federal legislative updates, confidentiality, involuntary mental health holds, the CARE Act, social media and other ethical Issues.

Educational goals:
1. Among other things, after the training attendees will become familiar with legislative changes that directly impact their work as public entity healthcare professionals, or that may impact their clients, or that may impact their colleagues working in the healthcare field.
2. Attendees will be exposed to real life examples of ethical dilemmas and challenges in providing health care in public entity hospitals, clinics and programs, and gain an understanding of best approaches to resolve issues in their communities.
