Guidelines for culturally responsive interpreter services
The CLAS (Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services) standards not only provide the importance for developing culturally responsive services, but also as it relates to language. In order to accomplish the goals inherent in CLAS standards, interpreter services are provided. However, it is also of importance to ensure that those interpreter services are culturally responsive, so that the interpretation is being done appropriately as it relates to the diverse communities that are in need of those services. This training will help participants to understand the what, why, and how of culturally responsive interpreter services.
