Gender wheel: Decolonizing gender with nature Part 2 - Hands-on and implementation

The educational goal of this session is to develop confidence and competency in creating gender inclusive environments for children that are nature-based, decolonized, and holistic.
AM session delves into gender-inclusive educational materials, protocols, and criteria that interrupt systemic oppression.
PM session explores the necessary and real-life steps to begin implementing the Gender Wheel® approach every day.

Learning objectives:

  • Demonstrate two protocols that can be implemented to immediately interrupt gender stereotypes & assumptions.
  • Assess and critique the gender-inclusiveness of media, educational materials, and environment using the Gender Wheel approach.
  • Describe four key strategies that can be engaged when dealing with pushback.
  • List the 5 foundational areas necessary to create a Gender Wheel® approach action plan.
