Facilitating gender euphoria
The inclusion of gender dysphoria in the DSM-V, along with the requirement for a diagnosis to access care, has led to an insufficient focus on fostering gender euphoria. However, it is crucial to shift the focus toward facilitating gender euphoria— not only as a protective factor against dysphoria but as a vital investment in the overall health and well-being of trans youth. This workshop will explore the various sources of gender euphoria and how it can serve as a resource to safeguard the mental health of young people. Additionally, practical strategies will be provided to healthcare providers on how to actively foster and support gender euphoria in their practice.
