BHSD lunch and learn series #4: Psychiatric intervention in early recovery

This presentation will help the attendee learn how to select one or more medications to lower fatality and symptomatology in early recovery. Additional feedback about different medications commonly used in combination with Addiction Medicine Treatment medications will also be discussed.

Learning objectives:

Identify 4 psychotropic medications used in early recovery.
Distinguish 3 reductions in fatalities due to appropriate medication use to prevent seizure, respiratory depression and septicemia.
Explain 2 transitions from early recovery to long term psychiatric treatment with medications. Focus on long term psychiatric issues after initial recovery treatment.
