Anxiety disorders and hoarding among older adults

More behavioral health providers are seeing older adult clients in their practice due in part to the greater percentage of older adults in the U.S. Anxiety disorders are some of the most persistent mental health disorders among older adults, particularly Generalized Anxiety Disorder and Agoraphobia. Additionally, rates of hoarding disorder are on the rise among older adults. This training reviews the prevalence, diagnosis, and treatment of different types of anxiety disorders among older adults and the prevalence of hoarding disorder. The training will focus on how anxiety disorders present differently among older adults compared to other age groups, as well as evidence-based treatments for anxiety disorders and hoarding among older adults.
